how sooz happened

Born from tofu.

Two Rice undergrads. One very bad bowl of tofu. A lot of science, a few late nights, and something that actually works.

It started with a meal that should have been a victory lap.

Risus was in China, sliding into a bowl of spicy tofu like he'd done a hundred times back home. He hadn't done it a hundred times back home. He'd done it like… eight. The tofu won.

For the next three days, the burn moved. Mouth → throat → stomach → places we will not name due to legal concerns. By the time he got back to Houston, Risus had a thesis: spicy food shouldn't be a battle.

He took it to Mo, and the two of them set out on a mission. They mapped the entire spicy-food experience, identified every place capsaicin hurts you, and went looking for a formula that could push back at every stage.

That research turned into the powder you can try today. Sooz: one sachet, one spicy meal, zero next-day apologies.

Together, they map every stage of the spicy-meal experience and refuse to ship anything that doesn't make it better.

Formula v1 (it was bad)

First batch tasted like a sad smoothie that lost its job. But the science was right: capsaicin neutralizers, mucosal soothers, pH buffers. Just needed to taste like, you know, a beverage.
